June 6th - Professor Jack

Today we did not visit anywhere! Which was somewhat of a relief as we have been going a hundred miles an hour since we started. We began the morning with Spanish class and then spent the rest of the day putting data into our SPSS program. Everyone was working on something in an effort to make our deadline. Later in the evening we had a few visitors. Mandy and Professor Jack came for a quick visit and a lot of laughs. It was a great evening! Afterwards a few of us went to a place next to our host family's house for some food and drinks. It was a nice and relaxing evening.
Marina, Laura, Danielle, Deborah, and Austin hard at work!
The group with Professor Jack; he is the one with the great mustache.

A few fun facts about Professor Jack: He has been teaching in Oaxaca for over 45 yrs. He also teaches in Portland and Canada. His daughter has blonde hair, green eyes, and her first language is Spanish. He is a delightful fellow who, when he was asked about retiring, he let us know that he will just take the bus when his tires run out.
