Today we went to an organization called Centro de Esperanza Infantil. It is designed to help children in need. They are often children who help their parents sell items in the town square. This organization helps with homework, provides school uniforms and supplies, offers food, and creative activities. Most of their volunteers here are from other countries. We met a few from France and Germany. It reminded me very much of Boys and Girls Club at Sandy Elementary and seemed very well organized. Centro de Esperanza Infantil takes donations and can support 1 student for an entire year with $250. Many of those they serve go on to University.
Having a little lunch. (You can see that this painting is educational of what foods are good for you.)
Danielle, Marina, and Laura.
This is Esteban, my Spanish teacher.
Spanish Scrabble! Austin and I tied with 107. Not bad for four players in a foreign language!
